Tabitha’s Way, a local food pantry, with two locations in Utah County, has been busy collecting foods to fill their food pantry and school supplies and backpacks for families heading back to school this week.

“As kids prepare to go back to school, families might be wondering what resources are available,” according to Tabitha’s Way website which lists resources and services available to families. Because of COVID-19 and job insecurity, more families are in need.

“Tabitha’s Way has been successfully operating for over eight years, providing food assistance and strengthening our communities by fighting the adverse effects of hunger and food insecurity. As Utah County continues to see unprecedented growth, we continue to distribute food to more families and individuals each year,” states their website.

Tabitha’s Way is taking an innovative approach to providing food assistance by encouraging local communities to take ownership of the problem of hunger by creating “No Hunger Zones.” A “No Hunger Zone” exists when a community, as a whole, takes emotional and financial responsibility to proactively resolve food insecurity for a minimum of three consecutive years.

The organization helps families and individuals through tough times by providing temporary food assistance, recommending resources for self-reliance, and helping neighbors to help neighbors.

Tabitha’s Way

was founded in June 2010 by Wendy & Jody Osborne, after Wendy felt inspired to help the food insecure in her local community of southern Utah County. Wendy started her pantry in a small location on the backside of the business complex next to Stone Drug in Spanish Fork , Utah and has now expanded into northern Utah county with a location in American Fork, Utah. Tabitha’s way works with the Utah food bank and other organizations to provide for the needs of kids and families.
