Below are a few of my picks for Utah summer travel. I’ve added them to my bucket list as they are properties that are destinations in and of themselves, true getaway experiences that are certain to be much needed for many post-quarantine. They are unique in their surroundings and showcase the diversity found within our great state.
Park City/Wanship
Blue Sky Lodge, an Auberge Resorts Collection
Canyon Point
Amangiri by Aman Resorts
A new addition to Utah, the Blue Sky Lodge is tucked away in the hills of Wanship, Utah, minutes from Park City. The lodge has a relaxed luxury feel that is eco-friendly in both architecture and amenities. Blue Sky boasts 46 rooms with three types of accommodations; Sky Lodge rooms, Earth Suites, and five Creek Houses along the banks of Alexandra Creek for those wanting more seclusion and privacy. Blue Sky is open year-round and offers seasonal activities to pique the interest of all: biking, fly-fishing, sporting clays, guided hikes, equine adventures from riding to natural horsemanship in Blue Sky’s private remuda, yoga and meditation, stargazing and s’mores, whiskey tastings in a yurt and more (some activities are complimentary to guests staying at Blue Sky). For dining, the Lodge’s restaurant, Yuta, offers creatively curated mountain cuisine which is locally sourced. The homemade donuts and cider, while working on your aim in the sporting clays pavilion, is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. Blue Sky is a true display of the natural beauty Utah has to offer.
