Investment Management
SERVICES
Foresight is a privately owned, fee-only investment management firm. We are an independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Foresight provides hands-on, customized investment management services to individuals, families, businesses and nonprofit organizations.
Our commitment at Foresight is to exhibit the same level of care and concern for your overall financial picture as we do in managing our own families’ assets.
Fiduciary Standard & Independence
Foresight is proud to operate as a fiduciary to our clients, a legal standard by which we must employ the highest standard of care in managing your assets. Some Wall Street firms are not fiduciaries for their clients. Instead, those firms are only required to recommend investments that are “suitable.” That is a subtle but important distinction.
Under our fee-only model as an RIA, we are purely independent. This eliminates the conflict of interest tied to selling products of financial companies and means we always act in the best interests of our clients. Foresight is not beholden to any fund family or investment provider, and we do not receive compensation for using external investment vehicles.
In addition to our fiduciary status, our internal policy is to invest alongside our clients when possible. That ensures that our team’s interests are aligned with those of our clients.
In-House, Dedicated Investment Team
At Foresight, we have a dedicated investment team whose sole function is investment research, economic analysis, portfolio design, implementation and trading, and portfolio monitoring. 100% of the Investment Team’s time and focus is spent on those tasks. The Foresight Investment Team is comprised of our Chief Investment Officer, David Wrigley, CFA and our Investment Analyst, Stephen Swensen.
Our investment decisions are driven by a thoughtful, research-based process that is directed by our Investment Committee. The Foresight Investment Committee is chaired by our Chief Investment Officer, David Wrigley, CFA. We meet every Monday to discuss the global economy, debate investment ideas, assess performance, and review areas of risk and opportunity.
The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is a globally respected, graduate-level investment credential. It is considered the “gold standard” of credentials within investment management. To earn the CFA charter, candidates must: 1) pass three sequential, six-hour examinations; 2) have at least four years of qualified professional investment experience; 3) join CFA Institute as members; and 4) commit to abide by, and annually reaffirm, their adherence to the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct. The Investment Team
Customized Investment Solution
Our aim is to un-package your unique goals, fears, objectives and vision. As part of that, we clearly define your risk tolerance, time horizon, and cash flow and liquidity needs. Since those things differ dramatically client-by-client, so do our clients’ portfolios.
Our goal is to design a customized, transparent plan that will help you achieve your objectives while diversifying your portfolio to protect against the combination of market, inflation, and longevity risk.
The Foresight Philosophy
We are proponents of the academic studies that demonstrate that asset allocation is the overwhelming driver of your portfolio’s risk and return. Therefore, we dedicate ample time and effort to establish – and periodically update – our clients’ appropriate strategic asset allocation.
We are long-term, disciplined investors. We do not chase returns, and we do not let emotions drive our investment decisions. We value evidence-based research, quantitative analysis, and forward-looking forecasts.
Diversification matters. At Foresight, we take a global, multi-asset class approach to portfolio construction. Client holdings might include a combination of cash, fixed income, equity, real assets, and alternative investments. We invest across a variety of traditional and alternative asset classes, depending on the unique circumstance of each client and the opportunities that present themselves throughout an economic cycle.
